When a Chinese university offered female students a blank card on which to write their wish, young Zhang Mengqian decided to take advantage.The University of Electronic Science and Technology in Chengdu declared March 7th and 8th as girls' days and allowed the female population to post their messages on a "wish wall".
And for Zhang Mengqian, there was only one thing her heart desired – a man.
However, we doubt that she expected quite such an overwhelming response.
Having told potential suitors to visit her room at a pre-arranged time on a certain day to shout her name, the boyfriend wannabes gathered outside her dormitory building – thousands of them.
Of course this mass gathering of male suitors is hardly surprising given that the ratio of male to female students at the university is 25:1.
Thousands there may have been but just a few of those had the courage to shout Miss Mengqian's name.
As yet there is no word on whether Zhang accepted any of their offers.
